U-Bolt Size & Weight Chart — DN15 to DN150 by Pipe Outside Diameter

Family index of the U-bolt charts: for every nominal size from DN15 to DN150 the table gives the metric pipe outside diameter, the inside width, the leg length and the overall height, the matching thread, and the unit weight in carbon steel at 7.85 g/cm³ with the catalog's default rod diameter. Values come from the same engine as the per-size pages; each size opens its own page.

Size Index (DN15–DN150)

Click a size for its own page (inside width, leg, height, arc and developed length, every optional rod diameter with its own weight, thread source note). DN = nominal pipe size; pipe OD = metric pipe outside diameter per GB/T 1047-2019; the thread column is the catalog's default mating thread; the weight column uses that default rod diameter.

Basis & Disclosed Assumptions

Where the numbers come from

  • The weight is a geometry × density figure from the same engine the product catalog and the per-size pages use: the developed length of the U — twice the leg plus the half-circle arc through the rod centre line, π(inside width + rod diameter)/2 — multiplied by the rod cross-section and by 7.85 g/cm³ for carbon steel, coating excluded.
  • DN against outside diameter follows the GB/T 1047 metric pipe series, and DN32 / DN65 / DN125 are series-completion sizes. The mating thread and the optional rod diameters per pipe size are extracted size by size from the product catalog's U-bolt data; a size where the catalog has no entry is marked as an assumption on its own page.
  • The weight column uses the catalog's default rod diameter for that pipe size — the lightest rod offered for it. The estimate tolerance used for this family is ±5%.

Scope & limits

  • The table answers a selection question: which U-bolt fits a pipe of a given outside diameter, and what one weighs. It is not a tolerance or acceptance specification — DIN 3570 and the project drawing govern the finished part.
  • The weight column uses the default rod diameter only. Heavier rods are offered at several pipe sizes, and they change the arc, the developed length and the weight; each size page lists every option with its own row.
  • Thread rolling is treated at nominal full diameter in the main figure, which is the same basis the product catalog uses. Rolling reduces the section slightly, so a delivered bolt can differ; the size pages disclose a roll-allowance figure alongside the main value.

Need a rod diameter other than the default?

The weight calculator covers U-bolts: pick the pipe size and the rod diameter and get the unit weight, the batch weight and pieces per tonne — on the same engine as this table.

FAQ

How do I select a U-bolt by pipe size?

Match the pipe outside diameter first, not the DN label alone: the table pairs each DN with its metric outside diameter, so a measured tube can be traced back to a size. Each row also carries the inside width, leg length and overall height, so you can check the fit against the pipe and the support before ordering.

Which rod diameter does the weight column use?

The catalog default for that pipe size, which is the lightest rod diameter offered for it. The size pages list every optional rod diameter with its own arc, developed length and weight, so a heavier option can be priced from its own row rather than scaled from this column.
