M27 Anchor Bolt Weight Chart

Per-piece weights of M27 anchor bolts in four configurations — straight, J-hook, L-bend and welded end plate — across the full length range (carbon steel, geometric-volume method), kg and lb, basis fully disclosed.

A M27 J-hook anchor bolt (500 mm shank + hook developed length 6d, carbon steel 7.85 g/cm³) weighs about 3 kg per piece; the straight pattern about 2.2 kg — full length table below.

M27 Anchor Bolt Sizes & Grades

GB/T 799-2020 lists anchor bolt sizes in stepped values from M8 to M72 (M8/M10/M12/M16/M20/M24/M30…); M27 is not among the listed sizes, so every M27 anchor bolt here is custom — length, hook bend radius, leg length, end plate and coating per project drawing. Common property classes for anchor bolts are 4.6 and 8.8 carbon steel with hot-dip galvanized coating per GB/T 3098.1; embedded depth and bend geometry follow the structural drawing and anchorage design.

For tightening, torque depends on grade and friction state — e.g. class 8.8 electro-zinc ≈ 944 N·m (833–1110), hot-dip galvanized ≈ 1221 N·m (K 0.18–0.25) — see the M27 bolt torque chart for the full class × friction matrix.

Material Density Conversion

Values above are carbon steel (7.85 g/cm³); for other materials multiply by the density factor.

Basis of Calculation & Disclosed Assumptions

All values are computed as geometric volume × density (carbon steel 7.85 g/cm³, base metal, coating excluded) — no copyrighted standard tables are reproduced. Straight = cylinder π/4·d²·L; J-hook = shank + hook developed length 6d (GB/T 799 hooked-bolt basis, identical to the online calculator); L-bend = shank + leg 4d (explicit assumption — GB/T 799 has no L-type leg table); with-plate = shank + square plate a×a×t (a=4d, t=0.5d, explicit assumption, unwelded-hole-free plate, weld and accessories excluded). The full nominal diameter is used along the shank with no thread reduction.

Boundary: theoretical geometric estimates for quotation, freight and lifting budgets. Actual piece weight varies with the as-built configuration (hook/leg/plate per drawing) and coating (hot-dip galvanizing ≈ +4.5%). Use measured values for trade settlement; send drawings for non-standard configurations.

FAQ

How much does an M27×500 J-hook anchor bolt weigh?

On the carbon-steel basis (500 mm shank + hook developed length 162 mm = 6d, full diameter) about 3 kg per piece. The straight pattern runs about 2.2 kg and the L-bend (leg 108 mm = 4d) about 2.7 kg — see the full length table above.

What is the difference between J-hook and L-bend M27 anchor bolts?

In this chart only the developed add-on differs: J-hook at 6d (+162 mm, GB/T 799 hooked-bolt basis) versus an L-bend leg at 4d (+108 mm, explicit assumption). At L=500: J-hook ≈ 3 kg, L-bend ≈ 2.7 kg. Actual hook/leg dimensions follow the drawing.

How is the weight of a M27 anchor bolt with end plate calculated?

Shank weight plus plate weight. The plate is a 108×108×13.5 mm square (a=4d, t=0.5d, explicit assumption, hole-free welded plate): at L=500 the assembly is about 3.5 kg per piece. For other plate thicknesses, holes or stiffeners, request a quotation to drawing.

What basis are these weights calculated on?

Geometric volume × density (carbon steel 7.85 g/cm³, base metal, coating excluded) — the same formulas as our catalog SKU weights; full nominal diameter with no thread reduction; hook/leg/plate parameters fully disclosed in the basis section. Theoretical estimates — use measured values for trade settlement.

Are anchor bolts, foundation bolts and J bolts the same thing?

They are names within one product family: "anchor bolt" and "foundation bolt" both denote bolts embedded in a concrete foundation; a "J bolt" is the pattern with a J-shaped hook at the embedded end (the J-Hook column of this chart, hook developed length 6d), while an "L bolt" carries an L-shaped leg (the L-Bend column). All four configurations here are computed geometrically at the M27 nominal diameter.
