M14 Threaded Rod & Stud Bolt Weight Chart

Per-meter and per-piece weights of M14 fully threaded rod (same basis for all-thread, threaded bar and double-end stud bolts) across 100–3000 mm lengths (carbon steel, geometric-volume method), kg/m and lb/ft, with pitch, root diameter and tensile stress area — basis fully disclosed.

M14 threaded rod (carbon steel) weighs about 1.2 kg/m; a 1 m bar runs about 1.2 kg and a 3 m bar about 3.5 kg.

Material Density Conversion

Values above are carbon steel (7.85 g/cm³); for other materials multiply by the density factor.

Basis of Calculation & Disclosed Assumptions

All values are computed as geometric volume × density (carbon steel 7.85 g/cm³, base metal, coating excluded) — no copyrighted standard tables are reproduced. Fully threaded rolled rod = plain cylinder π/4·d²·L × 0.97 (thread-rolling allowance, identical formula and parameters as the online weight calculator). The plain full-diameter figure is 1.208 kg/m; this chart uses 97% of it.

Boundary: theoretical geometric estimates for quotation, freight and lifting budgets. Actual piece weight varies with thread tolerance and coating (hot-dip galvanizing ≈ +4.5%). Use measured values for trade settlement. Double-end studs are cut-to-length products — at the same diameter and length the piece weight matches threaded rod.

FAQ

How much does M14 threaded rod weigh per meter?

On the carbon-steel basis (fully threaded rolled rod at 97% of plain bar) about 1.2 kg/m; a 1 m bar runs about 1.2 kg and a 3 m bar about 3.5 kg. The plain full-diameter figure is 1.208 kg/m.

How much does a M14×3000 threaded rod weigh?

About 3.5 kg per 3 m bar on the carbon-steel basis; a 2 m bar is about 2.3 kg and a 1 m bar about 1.2 kg — see the full 100–3000 mm table above. For stainless 304/316 multiply by the density factors ×1.010/×1.017.

Are threaded rod and stud bolt weights the same thing?

Yes. A double-end stud bolt is threaded rod (all-thread / threaded bar) cut to a fixed length, so at the same diameter and length the unit weight is identical — the kg/m row and the length table of this chart apply to both. The terms threaded rod, all-thread, threaded bar and stud bolt all denote this fully threaded product family.

What are the pitch, root diameter and tensile stress area of M14 threaded rod?

Coarse pitch 2 mm, external thread minor (root) diameter about 11.55 mm, and tensile stress area As = 115 mm² (ISO 898-1). As drives tensile capacity and preload calculations — pair it with the torque chart.

What basis are these weights calculated on?

Geometric volume × density (carbon steel 7.85 g/cm³, base metal, coating excluded), fully threaded rolled rod at 97% of the plain cylinder — the same formulas and parameters as the online weight calculator; the plain full-diameter figure 1.208 kg/m is shown for reconciliation only. Theoretical estimates — use measured values for trade settlement.
